My Roots:
My name is Richard but you can call me Ricky. I’m a cybersecurity enthusiast who spends just a tad too much time online. I’ve always had an interest in tech, likely spawning from all the PS2 and 360 gaming that was the object of my childhood obsession. This then took an unexpected turn into PC gaming when my best friend’s brother showed me RuneScape for the first time.
These days, you’ll find me in virtual worlds like FFXIV and BDO, exploring the streets of Night City in Cyberpunk 2077, or even just enjoying classic titles like the Civilization games. I also enjoy tabletop card games like MTG or Yu-Gi-Oh!
Career and Life Goals:
Beyond that, my aspirations extend into the realms of cybersecurity. I’m on a mission to become an absolute weapon in the field. My goal right now is to secure a position somewhere out there (in the public sector if I have it my way) focusing on defensive security. I envision a role where I can positively impact as many lives as possible, using my skills as a cyber warrior (or would wizard be more correct? I like warriors more).
Why This Blog?:
The blog, in essence, is a stepping stone towards this goal. It’s a place where I can reinforce my learning, help fellow tech enthusiasts, and document my journey. Tutorials, CTF guides, and a sprinkle of humor (at least moderately funny, I promise) are on the menu.
